Hi there!
The Rencontres des Jeunes Physicien·ne·s – RJP Paris is the annual meeting of young physics researchers in the Ile-de-France region.
Born in 2013 from the desire to create a space for meetings and exchanges around contemporary physics for young people in research, we are happy to have been able to count on the support of many institutional actors (doctoral schools, laboratories, universities and engineering schools, companies) since our creation who have made it possible to perpetuate the event.
Our model has even been taken up by some of those institutional actors themselves – especially the doctoral schools (Ecoles Doctorales or EDs) that now organize their own « scientific days » showcasing the work of their students every year. A great success for an innovation that was first and foremost an associative and collaborative coming together initiated by a group of young people ten years ago!
But the Young Physicists’ Meetings only exists because the young physics community perpetuates it, with a desire to take the time to construct a moment where we can all meet up every year, despite the busy schedules of everyone.
Organizing the day requires a certain amount of energy from the doctoral student organizers. But more importantly, what makes the RJPs successful besides the material organization is the connection with the laboratories where the young researchers are located. This connection is fundamental, and we must cultivate it to perpetuate our tradition!
So we are very happy to present to you today our latest initiative: the Friends of the RJPs.
What are the friends of the RJPs? Our idea is to create and cultivate a community of students from all the laboratories and doctoral schools in the Ile-de-France region. For the organizers
For this, we would like to have at least one member from each laboratory. We have the list, all that’s missing is you. To register – it’s here [add the form]
This initiative aims to create a dense network within the laboratories in order to relay the event
For the beauty of science and great meetings, long live the RJPs!
